This 6-hour online course is designed for North Carolina Medication Aides working in adult care homes or family care homes who need to meet the annual continuing education requirement under 10A NCAC 13F .0403 and 13G .0403.

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) does not pre-approve continuing education providers; each facility is responsible for verifying that their staff complete appropriate training and the required annual skills validation. This course fulfills the educational portion of the requirement, covering medication safety, administration techniques, and resident care best practices.

Participants receive a Certificate of Completion documenting six (6) hours of training. Facilities must retain the certificate and complete the Medication Administration Skills Validation Form (DHSR/AC 4605) annually for compliance. I later earned my Registered Nurse degree from Pratt Community College and most recently completed my Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Throughout my career, I have worked across a wide range of clinical and professional settings, including cardiac care, medical surgical, orthopedic, and wound care units, post cardiac catheterization recovery, home health, and long term care.

Education has always been a central part of my professional journey. My goal is to foster a supportive, organized, and engaging learning environment where expectations are clear and students feel confident asking questions and developing their skills. I value accountability, collaboration, and the practical, real world application of knowledge.

No, there are no clinical’s for the NC Medication Aide CE course.

There is no book.  All reading material is provided in the course.

Once you enroll and we have your full payment We Care Online will add you to the class.  You have a week from your acceptance day to finish the class along with the 6 hours.

Yes, once you have completed all course modules and the required six (6) hours, you will receive your Certificate of Completion by email. It is your responsibility to provide this certificate to your employing facility, which will keep it on file and complete your annual Medication Administration Skills Validation Form (DHSR/AC 4605) as required by the state.
