Do People Who Exercise Have Bigger Brains?

Here’s one you probably didn’t know about: your physical fitness actually correlates with the size of your brain.

Run Forest, run

Researcher Nicole L. Spartano and colleagues put 1583 people on a treadmill (not all at once) to test their physical condition. Twenty years later the same people did the same test, combined with brain scans. The lower the exercise capacity in midlife, the smaller the brain twenty years later. How is that for a motivational cue?
