This is a nursing techniques course designed to develop the skills of nurse aides in the hospital or long-term care facility.This course provides 35 Clock Hours online didactic learning and 40 Clock Hours clinical and lab completed at the sponsoring Long Term Care. Making a total of 75 Clock Hours. Approved by the South Dakota State Board of Nursing.
The exams within this course do not qualify you as a registered nurse aide; they are part of your training, and you must complete and pass BOTH the state required WRITTEN and SKILLS EXAMS in order to be placed on the SD nurse aide registry

Effective March 2, 2020, it is the expectation of the Office of Health Care Facilities Licensure and Certification ALL individuals who are being hired or are independently enrolling in a CNA training and testing program will complete the initial application process prior to the start of the training program; and receive confirmation that following successful completion of a training program and the Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation they would be eligible for active registry status.
