3 Reasons to Practice Thankfulness

Thankfulness is the feeling you get of appreciation or gratefulness for something.  The act of being thankful is most often remembered during this time of year.  However, it is something that should be practiced all year round.  For many, remembering thankfulness is something that must be practiced and disciplined to occur on a regular basis.  What are you most thankful for?  If you are looking to increase your thankfulness or maybe are not sure why you should be thankful, here are just 3 simple reasons to practice thankfulness.

  1. Being thankful feels good. And who doesn’t want to feel good?  Thankfulness can promote happiness and overall well-being when you think about all you appreciate.  Thankfulness can even improve your overall health and well-being.
  2. Thankfulness helps you through tough times. There can be many life challenges of loss, disease, stress, relationship issues, financial hardships and more.  Remembering what you are thankful for can ease one through difficult times.
  3. Your relationships can be strengthened through thankfulness. Having thankfulness as a foundation in any relationship is a great way to help establish it and keep it strong.  Showing those you care for, that you are thankful for them, can promote generosity.

What other reasons can you think of to personally practice thankfulness each day?  Being thankful and demonstrating your thankfulness to others can help spread it around and create a positive environment.  Enjoy your holiday season this year and help spread thankfulness!
