If you are looking to get active this summer and have an interest in playing sports, you may be surprised to learn that there are many that you can play alone. Whether you are looking to socially distance yourself or you simply enjoy setting a challenge against yourself, there are many ways to do so. Maintaining your physical health and fitness does not have to be defined by the calories you burn or the exercise equipment that you use. There are many ways to boost your fitness and have fun while doing so. Playing sports is a great way to accomplish both. Playing an individual sport can teach you a new skill while building your own confidence. Summertime is a great season to explore the world of sports. Here is a list of 25 sports that can be played by yourself:
Swimming
Dancing
Golfing
Bicycling/ mountain biking
Kayaking
Ice skating/roller blading

These are just some of the ways you can play sports alone. Of course, many of these can also be enjoyed in the company of others and can be challenged by adding opponents. Try challenging yourself this summer and explore a new solo sport. Be sure to check with your healthcare provider if you have health restrictions or are starting any new fitness activities.
